When I feel behind

There’s a lot of things I want to learn and do. I have a lot of time, but not enough brain power. Except on better days, my brain’s usual habit is to shut off after four hours of intense work every day.

This usually happens before noon.

So I’m far behind a lot of things.

Learning Mandarin, Ruby and Guitar. Writing fiction.

I could give up now.

But what I’ll do instead is to pick up where I left off when I feel like it, and get to competency a little slower.

Just like what I’ve always done in the past two decades.

It’s worked, and it will keep working. Unless I give up.

If I don’t give up, I’ll get there.
